While occasional snoring may not be a problem, regular nightly snoring sessions can be a symptom of something a little more serious and should be investigated. Snoring and sleep apnea (also spelt apnoea) are linked at an alarming rate – three in 10 men and nearly two in 10 women who are habitual snorers suffer from some degree of obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep apnea prevents you from getting the healthy sleep you need to lead a refreshed, energetic life. So regardless of what is specifically causing snoring for you, if you snore — or if you suspect you snore — consider it a sign that something might not be right.
Sleeping (and breathing) are essential for life, yet it’s also something we usually take for granted. If you’re always feeling tired, you might be having trouble breathing while you sleep. Many people have sleep apnea (also called sleep apnoea) without even knowing it.
Could it be sleep apnea that’s stealing the energy and vitality from your days? While many people with sleep apnea snore, there are some who don’t.
Because sleep apnea can affect your health and enjoyment of life, it’s important to find out for sure if you have it. Effective treatment can help you to get back to being your best self.
If you suspect you have sleep apnea, you're only a few steps away from a better night's sleep and feeling like yourself again.
